A two lite slider is a window with two sliding sashes that open side to side instead of up and down. Both sashes can be opened to allow a free flow of air. In most cases the sashes can be lifted out of the tracks for easy cleaning. Some manufacturers offer swing out sashes so the window sashes swing into the house for easy cleaning and don’t have to be lifted out of the tracks. Most two lite sliders come with night/vent locks which allow the window to open a couple of inches from side to side giving fresh air with a degree of security. For areas that need something a little tougher than regular window glass we offer double strength glass, tempered glass, or laminated glass as an option on all of our slider windows.
There are many options available to achieve the look you desire and fit the needs that are most important to you. Two lite sliders can be made of wood, vinyl, steel, aluminum, fiberglass, or composite. (Most two lite sliders sold today are vinyl or wood with vinyl being the most popular.) The glass paneling of a two lite sliders can come as double pane or triple pane; with argon gas, krypton gas, or no gas. There are a number of different types of Low-E coatings available which can greatly increase the efficiency of the window.
